Partnership Agreement with Catalan Polytechnic University (UPC) in Spain
The University of Zanjan and the University of Catalonia signed an international scientific agreement in the fields of education, research and cultural exchanges. The Catalan Polytechnic University (UPC) is a state-owned university and is one of the top 10 universities in Spain, which is ranked between 400 and 500 top universities in the world. It covers subjects, such as applied sciences, science and technology, health, architecture, computer engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanics, aerospace and telecommunications, natural resources engineering, sustainability, environment, marine sciences, humanities and social sciences, development studies, agricultural engineering and food industry, management and so on, and is run in a transparent, cooperative and democratic manner. The history of some colleges of this university dates back more than a hundred years. It offers the whole undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. degrees based on the European Higher Education Area EHEA, providing curriculum units for a variety of tastes and for individuals with different goals and skills. The State University of Catalonia was founded in Barcelona in 1971. It is currently the largest Polytechnic University in that country, with more than 21,500 students (27% female students) and 2500 faculty members (The ratio of the faculty to the student is 8.9). Over 12 percent of students in this university are international students.
