Vacuum Induced Transparency for a Three-Level $Lambda$ System

Abstract


In this paper a full-quantum electromagnetically induced transparency is studied and is compared with a semi-classical model. In semi-classical model two coherent  driving and probe are interacted with a three-level $Lambda$-type atom while in a full-quantum model the driving and probe fields are photons which their frequencies are tuned with the atomic transitions. In this paper we show the electromagnetically induced transparency is disappeared, in the semi-classical model, by the weak driving field. Furthermore, in the full quantum model, the electromagnetically induced   transparency (and even the vacuum induced transparency) is also appeared in a low intensity (or vacuum state) of driving field.
