Abstract

Abstract Nowadays one of the major problems that threaten human health is increasing the industrial activities and also the entry of different kind of organic and inorganic pollutants such as lead into the soil. Recently the Phytoremediation method is suggested to remove these metals from contaminated soils by accumulation of heavy metals in the plant shoot. The aim of this study is to examine the ability of absorption of lead from contaminated soils by using vetiver plant. The factorial experiment has done and completely randomly designed in workplace of Zanjan Khales Sazan Co. For this study two factors, indole acetic acid( a) in four levels (0, 25, 50 and 100 mgL-1) and salicylic acid( b) at four levels(0, 50, 150 and 250 mgL-1) with three repetition and 16 treatments were examined. Based on the Duncan test (p<5%) the result shows that, the effect of indole acetic acid and salicylic acid in different levels on the amount of lead in Vetiver plant is significant, Accordingly utilization of 50 mgL-1 of indole acetic acid and 250 mgL-1 of salicylic acid increases both the Pb concentration roots and shoots and also the Vetiver plant chlorophyll. Keywords: Indole acetic acid, phytoremediation, lead، vetiver , salicylic acid.
