Current Activities

 

HHM has been involved in projects involving inorganic Chemistry and nanotechchnology including: synthesis of coordination compounds, nanostructure compounds, design of molecules for catalytic oxidation use, structural characterization of compounds and catalysts by spectroscopic methods and X-ray diffraction.

 

Synthesis

Syntheses of transition metal coordination polymers. Development of synthetic methodologies for several types of organic compounds by procedures involving activation by transition metal ions, namely using complexes of vanadium, manganese, iron, copper, nickel and other transition metal ions.

Catalysis

Development of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalytic systems for the synthesis of several types of organic compounds including epoxides, alcohol, and ketones. Asymmetric syntheses involving homogeneous catalysis by transition metal complexes. Synthesis involving catalysts supported on solids, encapsulated in zeolites, or involving nanosized inorganic polymers.

Synthesis and application of nanomaterials and nanocomposites in the purification of air and water pollutants
