Evaluating Educational Departments of the University

According to the existing necessities in the University at the measuring performance of educational departments’ serving as main pillar in realization of educational aims and to remain imperfect like previous projects’ serving as internal evaluating and also decision of finding new sources to evaluate student’s satisfaction of professors and educational departments next to the final test in Golestan website, supervising and evaluating management of the University began to evaluate educational groups, this evaluation set in University’s council on 2013.october.10 for the first time, between 32educational groups that has began with 31 indices on October of 2013 till march of 2014, after that the second evaluation of educational groups also performed between 32 groups with 34 indices from October 2014 till march 2015.

Method of evaluating educational departments

The index evaluation of educational groups that are 34 indices that have categorized in3 types; education, research and satisfaction of education and research. Educational indices have 3 sub-indices of quantity, quality and organizational discipline and also has 3 sub-indices of quantity, quality and performance and finally each index. Each subgroup, each axis has its own weight.

To have information of indices have used below methods and sources:

Use existing systems like Golestan.

Tacking some indicators from educational groups.

Obtaining information from upper entities like Sanjesh.org

Personal interview with students in groups.

Obtaining information from professors and officials of faculties.

The purposes of evaluating educational departments

Before carrying out these assessments, most of University’s groups knew nothing about their own strengths and weaknesses and they were doing their duties. We hope with appointing the assessment indices and doing it, moves groups appropriate to fix its shortcomings and strengths, and also according to this assessing University’s officials being aware from these strengths and shortcomings so they can use them in their next plans. Educational aims can be announced in this list totally:

Creating a situation to make group’s abilities visible.

Endeavoring to see all sides of group’s movement including educational, research, management, academic performance, extracurricular activities and …

Creating a constructive and dynamic competition of groups’ next plans.

Attempting make the connection and interaction between students and members of the group of management.

Identifying specific and hidden issues that create dissatisfaction and decreasing output of educational group.

Results of evaluating educational department

After completion of data evaluation in evaluation department, Can be analyzed in 2 methods.

  1. Students’ satisfaction or dissatisfaction and announce those points in person interviews with related audiences.
  2. Statistical data integration and introduction of superior departments (specially the most points in the evaluation) and praiseworthy (the highest growth over the previous year) each faculty that has Commemoration in teacher position ceremony that announce on below.
