Optimal Design of Dual Mechanical Ports Machine in Series-Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle application
Abstract


In this paper, optimal design of dual mechanical ports machine based series-parallel hybrid electric vehicle has been presented. The target of optimization is vehicle main performance factors such as maximum vehicle speed, maximum gradability factor and minimum 0-60 mph acceleration time. In optimization process, ICE always biased on fuel optimum operation line. After obtaining machine dimensions from optimization, finite element method (FEM) simulation carried out for verification purposes.
