The physics department of University of Zanjan started its activity in 1989. The teacher training program was launched in this year, with an assistant professor, four lecturers, two Lab instructor  and 30 students. At present, the Department of physics, Admins 70 undergraduate student s in theoretical and soild state physics.

 Accpecting graduate students and Ph.D students can work on different field in physics, including, Nuclear physics, Atomic and Molecular physics, Soild state physics, Nano physics, Astrophysics (including astronory, atomosphoric physics and geophysics).
