Universitas Indonesia (UI) released the result of UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2018 on December 19th, 2018.  UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is the first and only university rankings in the world that measure each participating university’s commitment in developing an ‘environmentally friendly’ infrastructure. The rankings look at 6 indicators of each university (setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation and education). This year 719 universities from 81 countries (16 universities from Iran) took part, which is an increase from last year with 619 universities from 76 countries.  The University of Zanjan ranks as The 50th World's Most Sustainable University and ranks the first in Iran. To facilitate collaborations among participating universities, UI GreenMetric World University Rankings Network (UIGWURN) was established in 2017. To date, it already has 27 National Coordinators from 25 countries in Asia, Europe, Australia and America. These national coordinators have successfully held National Workshops in their respective countries. The University of Zanjan is the National Coordinator of Iran and a Steering Committe Member of the UIGWURN. The next international workshop of the UI Greenmetric will be conducted in University College Cork, Cork, Ireland on April 14th-15th, 2019. The University of Zanjan will also host the 2020 international workshop.
