Dynamic Modeling and Simulation of Induction Motors with Different Bearing Faults
  
Abstract


Multiple coupled circuit modeling (MCCM) of squirrel-cage induction motors (SCIMs) uses winding function or modified winding function theory to simulate performance of healthy and faulty SCIMs. This paper applies MCCM to simulate SCIMs with rolling-element bearing localized faults. This is done by defining appropriate instantaneous air gap functions. Simulation results show specific frequency components in the stator line current and the electromagnetic torque spectra, which were approved before by analytic and experimental investigations.
