Abstract

The solution of a Volterra-type screw dislocation in an isotropic wedge with finite radius and various boundary conditions is obtained by means of the image method. The solution is utilized to formulate integral equations for the finite wedge weakened by multiple cavities. The integral equations are of the Cauchy singular kind and are solved numerically to determine hoop stress on the cavities.
