Abstract

Crystals of the title compound, ethyl ( Z)-2-(1,3-dioxo-1,3-dihydro-2H-isoindol-2-yl)-3-phenyl-2-propenoate, C19H15NO4, M 1617.9(7)Å C–H r = 321.32 are monoclinic, space group P21/n, with a = 6.172(2), b = 8.029(2), c = 32.664(6)Å, β = 91.79(3)°, V =3 and Z = 4 at T =100(2)K. The crystal packing is stabilized by an extensive three-dimensional system of·O/π contacts with some oxygen atoms involved in trifurcated, four-centered interactions.
