Aiyoub JODAIRI PINEH is Assistant Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at University of Zanjan. He holds a PhD degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Adelaide, Australia. He teaches undergraduate students, and postgraduate Applied Linguistics courses in Discourse Analysis, English for Academic Purposes, and Contrastive Linguistics. Theoretically he is interested in Halliday and Mattheissen’s notion of language as a social semiotic and learning as socialisation experiences, and Marin et al. theorisation of Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) known as Appraisal and its application in educational settings, media, and other similar discourses.
