Abstract

Several types of models are used for fast transient phenomena analysis of a transformer winding: white box, Black Box and Gray Box Models. The difference between the models arises of how to calculate the parameters. The gray box models are taken into consideration recently. Estimation of the gray box model parameters based on stochastic search optimization method is investigated in this paper. A new method based on Weibull distribution function is used for self and mutual inductance estimation. The number of unknown parameters is reduced by applying this idea. The result of this research is evaluated using measurements on a suitable test object.
