DYNAMIC RAMP-RATE LIMITER TO ENHANCE WIND POWER PLANT PERFORMANCE
Abstract


Using a complete model of an implemented real wind power plant control system, a new technique is proposed to improvement Active Power Control performance. Normal Ramp rate limiters in the control loop are replaced by proposed Dynamic Ramp Rate Limiters to achieve better preferences. By this, the frequency control loop gets substantial benefits as well which will in turn help to power system stability. It is validated by simulations for a real wind power plant, speeding up active power production by the whole wind farm. The approach can also be simply used in other control systems including ramp rate limiter in general.
