Physical Education and Sports Science department began its educational activities in 2000, admitting students in Physical Education and Sports Science at Associate degree (AA) level.

Following that, in 2008, the faculty admitted students in Physical Education-Sport Physiology at BA level. According to Ministry of Science instruction, this department have accepted students in Biological Sciences and Humanities at BA level since 2015.

There are more than 150 students in Physical Education and Sports Science at BA level, in this department. From October 2012, each year, about 8 students in Sport Physiology at MA level are admitted. Also, according to faculty programs, Physical Education and Sports Science department will admit students in Sport Physiology at PhD level and in Sport Management at MA level from October 2016.
